Exploring the unknown makes you consider the human impulse to go deeper in the obvious sense, but also look in to ideas that might normally seem beyond reach.

“The best innovative ideas are found in unknown places to us”.Therefore, the designer creates her own processes of making an innovative and outstanding collection by inspiring from her intimidations and unknown ability of making certain techniques and processes. This project is a Womenswear zero waste and sustainable clothing collection that merges couture and technology. Complemented by shoes, bags and a textile collection divided in three stages of research: Materiality, Silhouette and Development. Exploring the unknown creates 400 biodegradable resin crystals with more than 2,000 earrings and recycle embellishments casted inside, also a zero waste textile pleating technique marked by beautiful red double stitching and free hand gatherings that gives life to 360 degrees of sculptural draping.

Nicka Bisou is from Dominican Republic which is an island really close to the ocean, a lot was unknown to her about the ocean so she decided to start there looking into the mysteries and the information that was not yet clarified. Therefore, she started exploring techniques that she didn't know how to do and created her own process of making them, giving life to amazing textile ideas. Another stage in the expedition of the unknown was heritage, trough her great grand mother she explored the 50's and 60's where she got the sense of the silhouette and sculptural drapes and shapes of the looks.
