I am an innovative and personable fashion and textile design student, with a highly creative and driven approach, complimented by a strong work ethic and skills in both knitwear and print design. I am highly practical and motivated to develop new knowledge and skills. In addition, I am passionate about the implementation of sustainable approaches within the fashion and textiles industry, through eco-friendly practices which reduce social impacts.

LIGHT AND SHADE

HAVING ALWAYS LOVED ARCHITECTURE, MY COLLECTION WAS INSPIRED BY THE SHADOWS CREATED WHEN LIGHT FALLS ON BUILDINGS. Due to the pandemic and being unable to travel, structures were created from cardboard, metal and glass, and then illuminated from different angles. Photographs were taken and transferred into Photoshop to allow experimentation with different colour pallets, and then superimposed over matt and shiny textures to visualise the design on fabric. A range of techniques such as painting with Quink ink and bleach, black ink over coffee and tea stained paper, and spray paint over stencils of the design onto knit, were also used as part of the creative process.
