Mook Attakanwong is a womenswear designer currently based in New York City. Her work heavily focuses on textile design and traditional hand work. She is interested in how fabrics can speak conceptually and how classic textiles can be reinvented using an array of couture and old-world hand technique in the age of mass production and high-tech machinery. Being a transatlantic citizen, having been born in Bangkok, studied in Sydney and now living in New York City, Attakanwong’s work often heavily address the gaps and miscommunications between cultures.

Attakanwong received her Bachelor Degree of Fashion Design and Textiles with First Class Honors at University of Technology, Sydney in 2013. She continued to extend her knowledge and was awarded her Masters of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and Society by the prestigious Parsons, The New School for Design in New York City in 2016. She has shown her collection on the runway in cities such as Sydney, Dunedin and New York City.

Dubbed by Swarovski as “hugely talented”, Attakanwong has been a long term recipient of the luxury brand, Swarovski’s sponsorship and support for her body of work and have also been named one of the emerging designers to watch by Vogue Italia. Her work has been featured globally in numerous international and well known publications such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, I-D magazine, Vice, Highsnobiety, Dazed and Confused, Racked, Hero, Heroine, Milk Media, Swarovski and 1Granary to name a few.
