MO NIRA

This colllection is a love letter to my ancestors, to the wanderers and dreamers, to the true Bedouins of today. The storyline begins with analysing the relationship between man and land. Reflecting on the representation of the mystical Arab female, while following an authentic curated love story that will resonate with today’s youth throughout Arabia.

I looked into the Bedouin’s system of life, and linked these elements with Arabic poetry that my father and I collaborated on, to create a fluid lifeline between the past and present. My vision was to produce a collection for young Arabs who struggle every day with their identity.

The accessories for the collection were inspired by Bedouin motifs, mixed with contemporary influences. They lived in isolation as clans together for years, but we as a modern society, are now experiencing isolation in a different way. I researched this idea: asking what the Bedouins did in their own isolation?
