Venezuelan born jewellery designer Militza Ortiz works from her London studio designing and producing her unique contemporary jewellery collection. Her work is inspired by the rhythms and colours of South America, where she has lived and travelled extensively. After obtaining a Master's degree in Internacional Marketing and spending 10 years in Marketing Industry, she re- trained as a jeweller in Houston, Texas at the Fleury Gallery, undertook short courses at Central St. Martins in London and at The Hopton School of Jewellery and continues to study under the mentorship of the Master Jeweller Alexandra Huerga at The Central School of Jewellery in Hatton Garden, London.
Renowned for working closely with her clients, Militza develops pieces that reflect their personality, enhance their colouring, compliment their style and harmonise with their wardrobes. Her trademark is her artistic skill of combining unusual, organic shapes with beautiful colours to create truly striking pieces. Using both precious and semi-precious stones mounted in sterling silver or gold, Militza’s versatility provides her clients with a wide range of options when commissioning pieces.
As well as her collections, Militza offers a bespoke jewellery design service. Whether you are looking for a unique piece of handmade jewellery or to redesign an existing piece. All fine jewellery pieces are personally designed and handmade in her studio in London.

Based in London, but drawing influence from all over the world, Militza Ortiz creates unique, organic and timeless jewellery inspired by I am fascinated by the minute intricacies of the underwater world, those that draw your eye in and let you lose yourself in them.

Having studied under master jeweller Alexandra Huerga and also undertaken short courses at Central St. Martin's, Militza Ortiz has over 17 years of jewellery making experience. She is rapidly carving a solid reputation for creating quality bespoke jewellery with the personal touch. Militza, an expert silver and goldsmith carries out commissions as well as redesigns to existing jewellery. She also offers her own limited edition collections which are available here.

"I believe that jewellery should be unique in its character, just like the individuals who cherish the memories they hold. That's why I treat materials with respect, celebrating their particular character and highlighting their special qualities, whether these are unusual gemstones or precious metals. Because of the techniques I use, 80% of pieces are made with recycled sterling silver and gold.

For me encouraging conscious consumption is a key part of sustainability and by producing timeless, high quality pieces I am doing so. I believe that sustainability means ethical manufacturing, every one of my pieces is made by myself and the best craftsmen in London who work hard to keep alive this dying trade in the UK. They are treated fairly, with respect and are paid well for what they do.
