MAZ is a contemporary high-end fashion brand created by Manuela Álvarez, a recognized fashion designer from Bogotá, Colombia.
She founded MAZ in 2013 as a brand that arises from an introspective process which is made tangible through tailoring, creating the need to empower women in their daily lives by means of their clothing. For the past two years, MAZ Manuela Álvarez has participated in the project Maestros Ancestrales (Ancient Masters) and started working as an agent for change in Colombia, co-creating fine pieces with indigenous communities from Colombia, promoting fair labor and the preservation of Colombia's ancient crafts and culture.
For Manuela Álvarez, collaboration with social agents and minorities has become a priority that must be preserved in the DNA of the brand.
