Mascha Shumikina’s collections are a poetic and intellectual exploration into the strength of vulnerability.
Forsaking the accepted boundaries of conventional fashion, Shumikina’s designs are a deeper expression of a woman’s true sensuality and individuality. Exploring the entire spectrum of what it means to be a woman, she creates feelings of femininity and romanticism allowing a pure energy to radiate.

A continual project of seasonal collections, Mascha works with shape, silhouette and volume to create timeless clothing with no attachment to trend. Each of her garments has its own character and makes its own statement, ultimately discovering a gentle balance between raw and refined, bare and layered, hidden and revealed. Her colour palette, prints and textures span time and distance to uncover that which is free and authentic.

The Russian-born designer grew up with the artistic influence of her architect parents before studying fine arts, design and fashion in London and Moscow, completing her education in 2002. Upon graduation she worked as an art director and graphic designer for international clients, culminating in her role as Deputy Editor in Chief for Harper’s Bazaar. With her diverse work experience and unique worldview in hand, she began her eponymous label in 2010, launching her first women's wear collection for the Autumn Winter 2010 season.

With the passion and vision of an artist always moving forward, her lifelong research into the combination of design, architecture and fine arts is now truly revealed in her fashion design - mature, delicate, balanced.
