Marilina Tsitsa is an artist and a fashion designer interested in employing the human figure as a canvas to express her concerns and aspirations. She uses garments as a tool to promote critical thinking and socio-political ideas that can be spread by the people who wear her clothes. Her work is characterized by an anti-fashion aesthetic that is underlined by bold statements or artworks and unusual compositions. Her fascination with art, her feministic perceptions and her need for spiritual and physical freedom and independency are values she applies to her work which give her unique stigma. She believes in the innovative power of collaborations and she is always seeking for interesting people to work with in new and exciting projects.

DUENDE

DUENDE is a protest collection focused on social issues and the hyper-idealised contemporary beauty criteria. The aim of the collection is to evoke critical thinking towards these subjects and to use garments as a means to promote a variety of ideas. The prints have been developed in collaboration with the Greek street artist Phevos Kesides that has expressed these subjects through his unique sketching style. The garments are used here in the same way as the murals of our cities where graffiti and street artists make their statements in the most authentic, caustic and liberal way. The collection has an anti-establishment character, military influences and utilises the multifaceted kimono in a more defiant way.The garments are worn by a woman that is radical, dynamic, independent and ready to break the rules and the stereotypes.
