Lucylmar aspirations, artistic and technical executions, have headed her to an international recognition as an outstanding designer and a sharp conceptual artist. Her creations are stimulated by various motives: wild nature, the human body, mechanics and robotics, among others. Sometimes separately, sometimes closely and delicately intertwined in mass, volume, shape, movement and rhythm. All of these aspects integrate conception, functionality and aesthetics. Thought, technology, reason, senses, research and experimentation embody simultaneously her primary tools. Therefore, her work is one elaborated with coherence. Lucylmar dedicates long hours to the conceptualization of lines and shapes needed to achieve the right composition.
At 17 she began her formal University instruction, majoring in Philosophy and Latin American Literature, in Puerto Rico. She also took specialized training in metal-smithing and technical drawing. Hence, transforming her gift into Sculpture, Industrial Design and Jewelry. From her hometown, San Juan, she collaborated – for more than ten years – in the design and production of pieces aimed for theatrical productions, music videos and red carpets. The latter, included the Latin Grammy Awards (Los Angeles, CA), Hispanic Organization for Latin Actors (NYC), Tú Música Awards (Miami, FL), National Art Exhibition and Auction for the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico (MAPR), Cannes Film Festival red carpet among others. Moreover, Lucylmar’s artistic approach has constantly been enriched by her travelling experiences. She takes time and dedication in relentlessly visiting design and art fairs such as FIAC, ARCO, Art Paris, BASEL and Athens Fashion Week, among others.
In 2007, Lucylmar was awarded a scholarship by the prestigious Parsons School of Art and Design. She studied in its Paris branch, achieving a degree in Design and Management. From 2007 until 2011, she expanded her academic training to Etruscan Ornament (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Central Macedonia), Sculpture (École du Louvre – Département des Scultpures, Paris, FR) and Glass Making Techniques (St. Petersburg, FL).
After seven years in Paris, Lucylmar moved to the region of Rhône-Alpes, where she lives and works. From her studio-atelier, she set up her own label in 2015, merging both Art and Haute Couture Jewelry.
