Loop de Loup by Sarah Phillips offers a selection of jewelry pieces with a distinctly minimalist point of view. The vast majority of components come from vintage stock that has never been worn, and has been stored for decades in warehouses around the world, unused by designers, just waiting to be re-purposed instead of thrown away. By adding a mixture of different patinas to the metals and combining them with vegetable tanned leather pieces discarded in the process of handbag production, I am up-cycling remnants into modern jewelry with character. Re-purposing these otherwise ignored components is my small contribution to reducing wasteful practices in the fashion industry.

After 10+ years in the fashion industry designing primarily leather goods for advanced contemporary brands, I remain astonished at the waste which is a by-product of production. With an aesthetic strongly rooted in minimalist industrial design, I decided to launch Loop de Loup as a venue for re-imagining and re-combining vintage dead stock components to create desirable everyday pieces. Additionally, many pieces have been left in a raw state so that they will continue to patina over time, gathering lasting character, and becoming thoroughly modern heirlooms.
