L.L.Y. Atelier

Agathe Bodineau is a designer, self-taught metalsmith and jeweller who graduated from Concordia University with a degree in Painting & Drawing and Print Media and also studied at École des beaux-arts de Montpellier in France. Process and experimentation around matter are at the heart of her practice. Her interest in design and metal work led her to launch LLY Atelier, an independent jewellery studio and line and to work with designers on varying projects in visual art and fashion. The works are inspired by contemporary art, natural sciences, extreme adornments, architectural lines and shaped by a somber and minimalist aesthetic. Raw or minimalist, geometric and refined, the ornaments combine precious metals with minerals and hair, structured around clean lines and geological shapes. The pieces are made by hand in the studio with great attention to detail and love for the unique nature of materials.
