Lion Studio

Launched in 2013, Lion Studio is a young and dynamic jewellery brand based in East London. Constantly striving for innovation, the studio combines new materials and technologies with traditional craftsmanship. The brand’s designs are minimalist but strong, using geometric shapes to striking effect.

Designer Lei Sihan graduated from Birmingham’s School of Jewellery in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Jewellery, Silversmithing and Related Products before beginning work as a freelance designer for various London based brands. After spending several years in exploring traditional headwear, contemporary narrative art, fashion design and handcrafted jewellery, Sihan decided to launch her own brand.

Lion Studio currently has three collections: ‘Be Outstanding’, ‘Beauty Through Struggle’ and 'The Shape Of Time'. Each piece in the collections is named after a woman who has inspired Sihan to pursue her dream in jewellery design, reflecting the brand’s core values of courage and strength. Sihan designs each piece personally and each is then brought to life by a highly skilled craftsman, working by hand with semi-precious gemstones and noble metals including sterling silver and gold.

In addition to its standing collections, Lion Studio designs and handcrafts bespoke jewellery for catwalk shows. These designs are tailored to each brand’s style, and Sihan works closely with the designers in each case to ensure the pieces communicate the designers’ message. Lion Studio has extensive experience working for catwalk shows, often turning around pieces to short time frames, and working with a wide range of materials - from paperboards to precious gemstones - to suit the designer’s budget, Lion Studio also provides a consultancy service to help designers to add jewellery pieces to their collections.
