LEVENT ALTIN

German-born fashion designer Levent Altin has Italian and Turkish roots. What is valid for his ethnical mix is valid for his design: ”It’s like connecting all the different pieces into one piece.” In his work Levent Altin is drawn to unconventional materials. Technical or untypical fabrics inspire him. Here starts the creative process for his design. Levent Altin innovates traditional craft, plays with differences, mixtures and opposites. Contrast and combination for him is the key. Out comes clean, sophisticated and wearable clothing with a twist.

Levent Altin grew up in a big family. His many sisters had the greatest influence on him. This is visible in his design work, a tribute to a modern, independent women.

The skilled clothing technician graduated as fashion designer at AMD Düsseldorf (academy for fashion&design) in December 2009, showing his collection “It never entered my mind”. During and after his studies he interned at Kostas Murkudis.
