ABOUT ME

Always drawing, sketching, painting, photographing, i am a creative talent at heart.

After working 7 years in close collaboration with Haute Couture Elie Saab, I launched LEBRAHC early 2013 in Kortrijk: a 100% Belgian fashion line.

After studying interior architecture at Beirut’s Fine Arts University, I quickly explored artistic fields through the lens of architecture and geometrical balance. Rigor and pure lines still define my style, complete with an elusive touch of poetry.

During my ELIE SAAB years, I rapidly grew into one of his trusted head designer: from researching themes for upcoming collections, to sketching prints, choosing materials, cuts and colours, not only did I work in close touch with ateliers but I also shot backstage photo series (shown in all ELIE SAAB’s Assouline books series ).

All in all, this string of creative years that revolved around architecture and fashion paved the road for me to act as studio photographer for film director Nadine Labaki, for music video sets, artists or fashion houses. To the point that I became Dita Van Teese’s personal photographer, while she performed at the Crazy Horse.

A rare eye for photography and geometry, a natural talent for fashion and a passion for architecture are the basis of LEBRAHC, my newly launched own Belgian fashion brand.

THE BRAND

Discreet, LEBRAHC plays on simplicity and exactness to reveal the muted elegance of a tasteful woman.

Entirely made in Belgium, the collections designed by Charbel – whose name in reverse defines LEBRAHC – follow strict geometrical principles and cuts.

Chosen with care, materials range from wool crepe, silk georgette and elegant lining and graphic piping ; together, they create a timeless style enhanced here and there with a twist of technical fabrics that freshens a look.

Visionary, LEBRAHC revives and revisits classic silhouettes with the sole purpose of modernising them: seamlessly, collars and sleeves are sawn insucha way they can easily be removed, hence allowing for attitudes and looks to evolve during the day and over the seasons.

Over the years, every new collection will be unveiled as a new chapter that completes the previous one: stronger every season, LEBRAHC will carefully grow as a thoughtful brand where elegance is timelessness.

It is a word of the poets: Nostalgia, a wistful desire to return in thought to a former time in one's life, a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time.

Giving momentum to Lebrahc’s spring summer collection, Nostalgia becomes a source of inspiration, an open door into the future: it blends Charbel’s origins and Lebanese culture with a touch of optimism, a stride into the future.

Inspired by a series of acrylic paintings Charbel staged at the Broelmuseum-Kortrijk, where Arabic words were portrayed as pure graphic compositions, the collection builds on strong strokes, colour blocking and striking black lines.

The bold calligraphy resurfaces with the use of contrasted silhouettes: hinting at street wear with minimal cuts, they also embrace a nomadic style with linen, crisp wool and raw silk. Altogether nostalgic and forward thinking, the colour palette evolves from cream, sandy hues to optimistic yellow and deep blue. Like an abstract canvas running through the collection, black and white jacquards bring depth to pleats, large collars and total looks.

The silhouettes move with determination: once again, the flared and dynamic volumes bring together the old and the new, the traditional and the modern, the minimal and the maximal. Nostalgia becomes a reason to hope for the better.
