LAM was founded by London based Fashion Designer Lucy Anne Makewell to create quality, contemporary, effortless knitwear with a feminine edge and unexpected detail. The ethos of the brand is to offer luxury knitwear which is both season-less and age-less. Lucy studied textiles at Chelsea school of Art gaining her degree with a specialism In fashion knitwear. Lucy then gained over the past 20 years industry experience designing for high street brands and high end labels which has given her the passion to develop beautiful knitwear which is respectful to the world, ensuring that the yarns used are sustainable and ethical in production.

LAM is investing in change, the consumer is becoming more aware, wanting to buy less but buy better. The idea of fast fashion is being seen as unethical with the throw away culture that has developed impacting our environment more than ever. At LAM we believe the fashion seasons are becoming less defined, and LAM wants to embrace this, believing their clothes don’t need to be defined into seasons and are much more than ‘fast fashion’.

Serious About Sustainability
Creative Director Lucy Anne Makewell wanted to design collections which are easy to wear, stylish, and make you feel good both personally and ethically, therefore LAM is committed to using high quality, sustainable and environmentally friendly yarns. All of LAMs knitwear is crafted with sustainable fibres sourced with social responsibility – sustainability is not just about the provenance of the raw fibre, but also about the impact on society
