Krizzel Gajo is a 2014 UTS Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Textiles (Honours) graduate. She specialises in womenswear couture design with the application of a variety of decorative techniques such as laser cutting, dyeing, needle felting, bonding and fabric burning.
She has great skills in patternmaking, draping and construction; being able to create off-the-body shapes and silhouettes. She has a passionate love for all things intricate, repetitive and tactile textiles.

Krizzel also has a wide experience in the fashion industry over the years. Working as a sales assistant/stylist from mass market to high-end fashion retail, she has gained tremendous knowledge of what her clients want and need. Krizzel has not only worked at the frontline of the fashion business but has also worked as an intern for a couple of Australian Labels, gaining further knowledge on how fashion labels operate successfully.

Disguising Loa

Disguising Loa is a whimsical and modern take on the Haitian Vodou spirits (Loa) that were syncretized with the Roman Catholic saints. This was a form of disguise in order for the devotees to continue their practice of Haitian Vodou during the European enslavement.

The collection features a balance between couture and ready-to-wear with sculptural silhouettes and tactile textures. Intricate textiles are produced from dyeing wool and silk, then laser cut, layered, bonded and needle felted to create a rugged but refined multi-dimensional fabrication.
