KOLU is a small, animal- and eco-friendly Latvian clothing label. It was founded in 2014, by the designer Elīna Siliņa, who has been a strong admirer of the art since a very young age. She began studying fashion in 2008, at the Riga School of Design and Art, whilst simultaneously beginning her career in the field, working alongside achieved professionals, developing her skills to an even further degree. After graduating from the school, she went on to continue her studies in the Fashion Department of Latvian Art Academy. During this time she made several avant-garde pieces and collections, from which she drew the inspiration for the label. Her designs have a minimalistic look, reminiscent of the 60’s, featuring futuristic shapes and patterns, with a glamorous, yet casual vibe to them.

Here at KOLU, we care deeply about our environment, as well as human and animal rights – this is why all of our products are made from high-quality, vegan materials, using only energy-efficient machines, by a happy, well-paid workforce. None of our product lines will ever be mass produced, for we are firm advocates of sustainable fashion. Our goal is to prove to the world that the fashion industry does not have to be cruel or unjust to meet the demand.
