Kate barton

Kate Barton is an emerging American fashion designer advancing unique approaches to evening wear, with a concentration on creating womenswear that is both sculptural and innovation while still being wearable and empowering. Kate’s mission aims to advocate for causes that will lead to positive change in the world. She focuses on innovation through two techniques, acrylic thermoforming and a sustainable geometric cutting technique, blending elegance with modern, bold details. Kate feels it’s important to have a balance between creating art and making the person feel beautiful I the garment. Through her work, she’s striving to create an atmosphere that enticed the exploration of form while giving purpose and authenticity to an elegant garment.
Barton is a recent graduate from Savannah College of Art & Design. During her time at SCAD, Barton received the first place award for innovation during the Mittelmoda competition at Milan Fashion Week 2021, was chosen by the CFDA for the Top Fashion Future Graduate Showcase, won a Red Dot Award for Design Concept, recognized by the CFDA as top 5 national Finalist, awarded the winner of Christian Siriano’s Live Red Carpet Event, featured in Tibi’s Fall 2021 Campaign, and showed her final collection at NYFW. Now residing in New York, Barton has recently begun expanding her innovative designs beyond couture garments to include accessories, shoes, and ready-to-wear pieces.
