The maxi coat trend for fall has gained serious support in the newest Karpova FW’23/24 collection. The release, called Between the Acts, is influenced by an eponymous novel by a feminist icon, author Virginia Woolf, which sums up the author’s chief preoccupations: the transformation of life through art, sexual ambivalence, and meditation on the themes of time.

The label’s values are highly close to advocacy of women’s rights ideas. Their hero product is an apron dress, an item that has been indicating the only possible female role in society until literally several decades ago. Now the designer wants to turn things around and presents this sartorial piece as a legitimate after-hours wear piece, that takes an outfit to a new level. For this collection, the apron is crafted in wool and styled with matching wide-leg trousers.

‘I strongly believe in the new dressing decorum, which includes subdued elegance and laidback opulence, — says Iryna Karpova, the brand’s designer. ‘The risk of running out of style is close to none, and the looks are relevant in almost any circumstances. Our heroine can throw on an apron dress over a casual outfit and head to an exhibition opening, a charity dinner, or simply to spend time with her loved ones”.
