Born and raised in a small northern country called Estonia, Karmen was drawn to fashion already at a young age resulting in many experiments and projects in fashion design and arts.
She studied tailoring at the Tallinn Industrial Education Centre to build a basis of knowledge in the art of pattern drawing and garment making. Hence, Karmen values the good quality of tailored garments and holds this as a supreme principle of her work.
In 2016, Karmen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Fashion Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern Switzerland. In 2014, she was an intern at Marit Ilison’s studio in Tallinn.
The longing for the northern nature, culture and her roots is the main source of inspiration for her simple yet elegant style. Her designs are built around a moment of mesmeric beauty that can be seen in the unique collages or quirky details of the garments.
Her designs offer the wearer simple comfort, while lacing the everyday life and style with oomph and sensuality.
