Within the community, people support each other and age differences are of no significance when talking about skateboarding tricks. This is also reflected in the clothing of the collection. I researched the underrepresented queer community in skateboarding and decided to choose expressive colors from street graffiti. THE QUESTION FOR MY BACHELOR WAS: IS FASHION GENDER-FLUID? I DEALT WITH GENDER STEREOTYPES AND DECIDED TO CREATE A STREET AND SPORTY MENSWEAR COLLECTION. THE COLLECTION BREAKS UP WITH TYPICAL STEREOTYPES OF HOW MEN HAD TO DRESS. It should not matter what age, gender, body or origin a person has. The collection conveys a sense of togetherness through the cross-line patterns, and the expressive choice of colors simultaneously dissolves the stereotyped color image of current men’s fashion.
The entire collection was made from deadstock materials, up-cycling and off-cuts.
