Justine Hats

I am a hat designer, milliner. My professional background derives from BA in art and design and MA in cinema and TV. These disciplines also constitute an endless source of inspiration for me.Hats are a petty specific category in the fashion world. I like to refer to a hat as a three-dimensional sculptural object that defines and characterizes the identity of the person wearing it. I noticed that most people who wear hats are people with a unique and individual personality.
I design by walking around, looking around, watching, feeling. Sometimes I feel like my thinking is like a drawing into my head.
Looking for a main idea or subject to each collection is the best thing in my creation process. Ideas connect to design values like material, shape, color, texture and leads to original unique creation.
I love the freedom that handmade technique allows me because it makes me to constantly re-invent. I love mistakes when raw materials or unfinished hats throw away to my 'design laboratory'. I do not always know what I'm doing and I hope it will stay like this.
