Johanna is a young designer born in Guayaquil Ecuador. She studied footwear, pattern making and accessories design at Polimoda International Institute in Florence, Italy. At school, she learned design, leather manufacturing and finishing processes from experienced professors in the fashion industry..
Upon graduating, she worked for six months at Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, as part of the design team for the shoes and accessories department. During this experience she visited the most important luxury good fairs in Europe and learned how designers differentiate their products by applying unique details in the design, finishing and metalwork of premium leather goods.
She complemented her design studies at Polimoda with a two years fashion-merchandising degree, at Miami University of Art and Design.
After several years of study and international work experience, Johanna created her own brand “Johanna Konanz”. The brand covers a collection of premium quality exotic skin purses and accessories. These luxury pieces are made from the best crocodile, python and ostrich skins. Johanna gets her inspiration from photo books, old movies and fashion icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy. She likes to create elegant and refined designs that last through the years.
All of our products are part of a sustainable use program that benefit people and wildlife and contribute to breed another animal into the wildlife. When buying our pieces, you are contributing to the repopulation program of the caiman species, under the supervision of the Colombian Ministry of Natural Resources and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
