Jodi Barima’s climb to fashion’s most wanted list has been a remarkably short one. After graduating in women’s wear design at London College of Fashion, she was offered the opportunity to work with renowned footwear designer Olivia Morris.
During this period, this design entrepreneur accepted a place at London’s prestigious footwear college, Cordwainer’s, where she began to demonstrate her wide range of skills and talent, producing commissions for various brands, exhibitions and publications.
With her talent in high demand, this astute designer launched her own luxury accessory brand, Jodi Barima in 2009, producing bags, belts and body pieces from exquisite Italian leathers.
She has graced the pages of Ok magazine, Sunday times Style and FAB magazine just to name a few. With pieces sought after by fashion connoisseurs Little Boots and Lady Gaga…..
She has styled for shoots and consulted on shows for fashion brands and companies such as Blow PR, London Fashion week, Tranoi, Eco Luxe and AHB live.
After a brief trip to Ghana in 2011, she was head hunted to produce a womenswear collection for renowned textile company Vlisco, later producing accessories for their sister company Woodin as well as F.A.R.A. She has since set up a factory in Ghana where she continues to produce her african inspired label “Jodi B”, an affordable luxury.
She has styled for music reality TV shows, Icons Africa, The One Show -Joselyn Dumas/PY under her consultancy JJRocks as well as featuring in USAID documentary (A portrait of Ghana) promoting Ghanaian Business and development.
Her aim is to establish a consultancy for creative enterprise in Ghana aswell as becoming an international success.
