My work focusses on creating shapes around the body, without the use of western base patterns. I try to approach the body with an innovative eye, solving problems from an independent perspective. By this I make wearable garments with a not so common approach. I give myself the freedom to make garments that are not solely bound to the body, but also interact with space and surroundings, thinking about the space the garment takes out of its surroundings.

My work is not about shaping the body, but about creating a new shape for the the body to wear.

Latest Collection

A Geometric Conversation

After the collection ‘a collusion of angles’, this new collection; ‘A Geometric Conversation’ focuses on the simplifying character of the geometry. Bringing complex structures back to their fundamental base. Questioning sizes, shapes, and relative positions of forms.
Shapes have been created by adjusting small parts of the materials, leaving the rest of the material untouched, which results in clear garments.
The finishing of the garments with silk black bands create distinct outlines.
For this collection the leather triangle fabric, which already appeared in previous collections, is used next to a more stiff and severe version, using wood fine.
The fabrics became an encounter of clean, modern materials touching them with the traditional technique of felting. Next to this more plain silks and leather is used.
Touches of silver and amethyst purple add a subtle tension to the mostly black collection.
