Jakub Straka

Jakub Straka is a Bratislava, Slovakia based knitwear designer. The main aim of his work is emphasis on a craftsmanship and paying homage to collective traditional textile history of Eastern Europe. The designer’s personal and deep knowledge of natural materials leads him to open topics such as mass consumption, ecological footprint and impact on specific communities.
Natural material choices used for producing garments are always certified as either organic, recycled or sourced from selected farms from countries where laws on farming ensure the welfare of animals.
