ISABELLA CHARLES

Isabella Charles is an independent Australian fashion designer and Fashion Design and Business Marketing graduate, currently based in Berlin. She designs and creates all her garments by hand.

HER WORK IS FOUNDED UPON A DARK, MONOCHROMATIC PALETTE, HEAVILY ADORNED WITH GOTHIC OVERTONES. SHE EXPERIMENTS WITH A DICHOTOMY OF TEXTILE MEDIUMS, COMBINING NAÏVE AND REFINED APPROACHES TO MATERIAL TECHNIQUES. HER WORK HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE EDITORIALS.

She explores alternative aspects of fashion and creates clothing that is fashion forward without completely conforming to societal expectations and rules. Embracing both feminine and masculine design qualities, Isabella pushes the boundaries of gender identity and encompasses in her work what it means to be a powerful individual.
