INGUNN BIRKELAND OSLO

Ingunn Birkeland started her own label INGUNN BIRKELAND OSLO in 2005. Since then the label has been based around showpieces with time consuming techniques. Every dress is handmade and tailored especially for each client. In August 2011 the label launched the first shoe collection. The shoes contain the same colours, details and techniques as the dresses, and are produced at a factory with long traditions within shoe production in Spain. To present the showpieces and collections Birkeland work closely with choreographers, musicians, stylists and photographers to make performances and fashion films.
Ingunn Birkeland (b. 1979) has a Master degree in Fashion Design from Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and has been nominated to the Norwegian Design Award “Nåløyet” twice (2008 & 2012) as well as having received two scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs.
Birkeland has presented three catwalk shows and two performances at Oslo Fashion Week. Several Norwegian celebrities and actresses have chosen Birkeland´s outfits for the red carpet, and the label has received a lot of press coverage in Norway over the past few years.
