House of DZ

House of Dz is a south London based urban contemporary fashion house created by recent graduate Sammie Dz Olawuyi. He had his first taste of the fashion industry through modeling and was inspired to go on and study it at the university of East London, where he produced his first unisex collection dubbed “Area Boys”; inspired by a clash of two cultures dear to him; London street culture & Nigerian Luxury. This collection was selected to be shown at graduate fashion week 2015 and was met with plenty of praise for the seamless integration of cultures and clean but very street style.

A$AP Rocky said, “ I have a voice that speaks for a whole other market- not just black people, but high fashion urban people. I mix streetwear with high fashion. It’s never been seen before”, House of Dz (pronounced Dee zee) epitomizes just this, mixing high fashion with real streetwear, not simply copying or having influences. By tapping into this other market, titled “Urban Luxury”, HODZ have been able to expose a real urban street style to the public without watering it down or exaggerating it for the catwalk.
