This vibrant modest collection aims to allow individuals who observe modesty to be able to express themselves aesthetically through colour and silhouette whilst still being modest. The collection aims to combat the lack of options for women when it comes to modest clothing. Initially the collection started out as a modest collection that followed the typical modest wear guidelines, whilst taking inspiration from Islamic culture. However, as the collection developed it was made clear that the collection explored self-expression through clothing, whilst celebrating inclusivity in the fashion industry. The collection eradicates the notion that modest wear is made up of muted colours and long shapeless clothing. In order to do this a bright colour palette was introduced, which consists of bright pink, yellow and orange but still incorporates common colours found in usual modest wear which is black and a range of the colour blue. The collection takes inspiration from traditional Islamic architecture and patterns but introduces laser cut and weaving to add a twist. The laser cut trench coat takes inspiration from mashrabiya which is a window framework with latticework typically found in middle east homes. This also led to the laser cut trouser panels which were inspired by stained glass windows found in mosques.
