Inspired by unexpected family gatherings, this collection fits perfectly with the two pillars of the brand: sustainability and craftsmanship.
Madrid, 9 September 2022. The Spanish fashion label Habey Club presents its SS23 collection, “Reunion”, inspired by family gatherings that are commonly known to all, but with ingredients that give us a glimpse of a reality that is rarely shown to others. And to the public.
Impossible conversations until the wee small hours of the morning, the sharing of past memories, mentally blurred. Moreover, exaltations of friendship at a specific moment in time, improvisation and face-to-face conversations, without forgetting those that happen behind one’s back; these are the common elements of a unique collection that will be released next October at 080 Barcelona Fashion.
SPIRIT AND INSPIRATION
To illustrate this inspiration, where the brand’s creative directors – David Salvador and Javier Zunzunegui – wanted to portray how a cold relationship becomes closer as the hours go by, they have opted for pleated garments, thus making an allegory of the garments that arrive perfectly ironed, but which start to wrinkle as time goes by.
“We wanted to reflect the diversity in the protagonists’ clothing through different fabric finishes: coarse or rough fabrics, satin, gauze with transparencies. We have also added different lengths and necklines, as well as a mix of classic suit fabrics in trench coats with casual sleeves made of ribbed knits” says Zunzunegui.
The tears that reflect the exaltation of feelings are shown by means of crystal embroidery on different types of knitwear or fabrics with greater stiffness, such as denim. Last but not least, the classic shawl, in this case reinvented.
As Salvador points out, “it is an element we have resorted to in the form of a rigid structure that is placed directly on the body. The spirit of borrowed garments, which are always used in these meetings, is represented by dislocated collars, which refer to the difference between the bodies of the owner and the new tenant’s”.
All the elements that make up this collection are perfectly aligned with both brand pillars: sustainability and craftsmanship, two components that are closely linked and which have decided not to give up since they set up the label.
