Description of the Clothing Line:
In clothing line “The Architecture from Within“ I have tried to capture my feelings about the unique architecture of the 20th century. Thus I have shaped the impressions, these inspirational buildings evoked in me, working mainly with cuts. By using an interesting combination of materials I enhanced the objectifying of my visions. I worked with fabric as it was a matter which I can shape within a space, thus I have become “the architect“ myself. I also considered the materials such as concrete, glass and steel. Glass is clear and I simulated it with a transparent material-organza. I chose duffel as an equivalent to concrete, bricks and steel girders. The visual aspect of this line is not guided only by the shapes but also by the idea of layering materials.
The six dresses symbolize transparency, protection and vulnerability, willingness, uncertainty, mysteriousness, confidence and determination. There is a justification in every single detail or cut of the dresses. The clothing line is limited to only few pieces, thus not only the originality of cuts and the combination of materials, but also the spirit of the line, can be guaranteed. It is a proof of the fact that architecture can truly inspire a fashion designer.
