ES PAR TA was founded in 2015 upon the ancient craft of hand made alpargatas, a shoe making technique that dates back centuries. Es Par Ta aims to preserve valued ancient handmade shoe and textile traditions and create social and economic opportunities for women artisans, and to date has worked with artisans in Spain, Japan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Italy. Alluding to esparto, the natural fiber roots that comprise the soles, Es Par Ta is a playful hybrid of romance languages meaning, “it’s for you.” Select stockists include Moda Operandi, Galeries Lafayette Doha, SKP Beijing and several Four Seasons Hotels. Es Par Ta has been featured in Atelier Dore, British Vogue and L’Officiel Mexico.

ENTRE CUARTO ISLAS

Entre Cuarto Islas references the shifting center between four points, and between the four distinct Balearic Islands. Distilled, a winter in the Mediterranean is reflected through four elements. A Sudanese love song and an Italian directors vision of all encompassing love are points of departure. As always, Es Par Ta takes inspiration from a life lived by the sea. Surrounded by water, we are always encompassed by something greater than ourselves.

Our artisan collaborations add nuance to the collection influences. Continuing to work with Mallorcan textile artisans, the newest patterns range from a green and azure ikat, or tela de lenguas that mirrors the colors of the wild Balearic seascape. A cafe and cream stripe recalls the awnings of plaza terraces. Japanese ribbons return with the nude hue of sundried fronds to the blush of flora. Custom made raffia, sourced from a mill in Tuscany, adds a palm like texture to the new Palla sandal. The best selling Amor Cintas sandal is reimagined with a wedge jute wrapped heel. The Sola is a reinterpretation of the traditional espadrille used to dance the Sardana, the national dance of Catalonia.
