Emily Harper is a 'Class of 2020' fashion design graduate. studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design with Marketing and Production at the University of Huddersfield, Emily has gained a huge breadth of skills and a holistic understanding of the fashion industry; from concept and design to understanding the manufacture and promotional aspects of taking her collection to market.

Emily has industry relevant experience, completing her placement year at Oasis Fashions Ltd in London, understanding the functions and processes involved in the runnings of a multi-channel business. This in turn has helped to develop a professional attitude towards her work and motivated her to succeed in the industry.

The Holloway brand was created as part of Emily's final major project going hand in hand with her collection 'From Suffering to Suffrage' a concept inspired by women, to empower women. Holloway was inspired by a period in history where women were subjected to inequality and hardship. The Suffragettes were the key driving force behind advocating for women’s rights during this period, despite the significant danger and threats posed to them in doing so. Many suffragettes were imprisoned in retalliation to their protests, and upon release were awarded with a ‘Holloway Brooch’. Representative of Hope and freedom, ‘Holloway’ perfectly captures the essence of the brand and everything that it stands for.
