Echo + Air exists somewhere between the parallel of dreams and reality. It has transpired through the manipulation of shape and form. Echo + Air delicately deconstructs traditional silhouettes, transforming them into something beautiful, minimal, and functional. With a strong emphasis on drape and cut, quality fabrics, subtle textures, and modern colors, Echo + Air has imagined and materialized a new atmosphere of thoughtful design. It is clothing that is both conceptual and wearable; providing each wearer a unique experience.

In the spirit of forward thinking, Echo + Air is a brand that looks to the future. Echo + Air understands the importance of sustaining a local economy. We produce all of our clothing in Los Angeles.

Echo + Air came to this world in 2013. It was created by Los Angeles-based designer, Jordana Howard. Jordana studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. As a designer and artist, it has always been imperative for Jordana to create her own world. Combining her love of storytelling and mythology, her Scandinavian heritage, and a passion for Japanese pattern design, Echo + Air is the material expression of this world.

FALL/WINTER 2016

Inspired by the architecture of Tadao Ando and the attitude of Yoko Ono. Echo + Air is 100% cut & sewn in Los Angeles. Manufacturing clothing domestically and ethically is integrated into our design philosophy. Because we work with a local factory, we are able to manage quality from start to finish. The cutters & sewers are skilled and paid fairly for their work. They are an integral part of the Echo + Air team; we value their input, talent, and knowledge. Many of our fabrics are knitted locally. We are able to work with some fantastic local knitting companies to create beautiful novelty knits each season. Making a smaller carbon footprint is a big part of our ethos. We do our best to source eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible. Modal, Tencel, and Recycled Polyester are some of our favorite materials. By default, digital printing is a greener option in contrast to screen-printing or rotary printing. There is significantly less power, waste, and water used. Recycled Polyester is the ideal fabric for digital printing. It doesn’t require any chemical pre-treatments or solvents to print this fabric.
