Staying in just one place is like reading only one page of a book. I believe most of my inspiration and differences reflected in my work come from moving around the world… My curiosity towards other cultures and places is as strong as the passion I put into the innovation of my creations. But I believe that what forges your personality the most is what you go through as a child. Trought my father’s passion for architecture I was immersed in art and found myself naturally drawn into exploring the creative route... Adding to that the way I adventurously grew up between Yugoslavia, Norway and Italy, countries that are submerged with contrasts and that broadened my vision, stimulating my interest and will to express myself into my work.

It is obvious that my Northern European roots have a strong impact on dMajuscule/ for the "north" strikes out in the simplicity and cleanliness of my lines and cuts. On the other hand, the frequent use of the color black distances me from that heritage and its traditional "palette" of earthly tones such as browns and greens and highlights more my Italian inhibition.

As to what reflects my concept of fashion, I draw my inspirations out of the emotions one feels from pain, sex and fear into a story, plotting it with ingredients from intimate and dark relations, from stories of the hidden shadowed part of our heart and of our brain, that faces difficultly to emerge, for this part remains intact in its purity when not shared.
And this is how in 2008 I drew up my collection "0".
I would want to break the stereotype of sexual orientation while sustaining each sex’s identity. I think of the woman as much more feminine if she were to wear masculine cuts or of a man, more virile, in shapes of volume typically feminine. My woman teases, unwillingly, naturally, giving away glimpses of her skin, sneak peeks of her sensuality, unpredictably, un-calculated…

I understand perfectly the screaming obvious creativity but I do not abide by its rules. I am more intrigued by smaller, more intimate details that are subdued to the shape.
Designing a piece of clothing that does not attract the eye but rather stops it and invites it to discover that little unobvious twist.
My wish is to grow in order to create a structure that would grant me the means to transcend in my creative work and to be able to technically embody all of my ideas, putting this way my clothing line under the spotlight without having to exhibit myself.
I chose not to use my name but only my initials for my intention is not that of promoting myself but that of expressing how I conceive fashion/dMajuscule takes life.

I have no interest in the clothing piece per se, as much as I am passionate about the route that narrates it into becoming that particular end product. This is probably why it’s so easy for me to let go of a collection once it’s finalized and move on to the creation of the next fashion plot.
