A gradation of gray on an abandoned wall. The harsh light in a hallway in a club. The constant flux of crowds. I'm inspired by the imperfect beauty of urban environments. By combining unexpected materials and prints, my apparently simple designs reveal in fact the complexity of big cities.

I am working with my sister Claire to develop our brand, Disco Noir. Our first collection is a line of women's handbags which will soon have some evening bags as well. Short-term plans for the future include a line of men's bags and...a couple of pieces of furniture.

Sac AW 2009

The first Disco Noir collection is infused with the modern and graphic appearance of the Braille alphabet. I play with the texture of this alphabet to produce ton-sur-ton effects through printing, hole-punching and introducing Swarovski crystals. Isolated words are agglomerated into sentences and then into paragraphs, creating an intricate canvas for the eye and for the touch.

The selection of contrasting materials further contributes to the tactile aspect of the bags. Layers highlight beautiful urban materials such as smooth full-grain leather, thick cotton, vinyl, and an unusual material, neoprene, whose suppleness and lightness accentuate the geometry of the patterns.

These precise combinations are achieved thanks to the expertise of our French manufacturers.
