“Dirty Celebrity” is a slang term meaning a person who wears designer clothes, mixed in with grunge, or punk styles. This description is the essence of our brand that composes exotic hand details, exaggerated styles, and Japanese punk. It was launched in 2020 as a sustainable accessories brand.

The brand started As Belle pour la vie in 2009 by West Indian and Spanish twin sisters, Eva and Yvette Estime. The twins were tired of over –priced and under-designed pieces that dominated the market as well as seeing the same designs churned out by the same designers.

“We wanted to offer something different”, said co-designer, Eva Polynice. “A brand that is composed of various priced jewelry items but still offers the same details of higher brands while remaining true to our style esthetic of punk and grunge”. The result is a brand that combines bold pieces with effortless cool and punk details like studs, and rivets.

In just three years, the twins have made a splash in Florida fashion. The brand renamed f.u.s.c.h.a, was nominated for emerging designer of the year in 2010 by FGI during Funkshion. The following year, the brand was featured in Mercedes Benz Fashion week (Miami) alongside Aqua Di Lara to launch their new collection, Quiss Quiss. National recognition followed with magazines snapping up the pieces including Nifty magazine, MF magazine, A&U, Black Women Today, Daily Candy, and fall style. The brand gained a celebrity following when Mya, Elle Verner, and Jasmine Lewis began to covet our jewelry followed by a feature on BET.com and music videos by Lil Wayne and Ace Hood.

The twins moved to New Jersey after hitting a road block with their brand. They worked hard to build a business plan and create a more unique brand. Then the pandemic hit and the twins decided to turn their focus to sustainability and launched dirty celebrity in 2020.

Dirty celebrity became an award winning brand winning the klarna initiative in 2020, a luminary fellowship in 2022, named alternative designers of the year by lux magazine in 2021, A fellowship to selfmade in 2023, a fellowship to Cornlus x pnc in 2023 and the cfda launchpad in 2023.
