DI PLACIDO

The concept for this A/W 18/19 collection is the result of an analysis about the world in which the contemporary woman lives. This will be done by understanding her troubles, her mind and her needs. In addiction, the designer make a research about the actual woman enviroment, follow the trend newstalgia using nostalgia mood, old films and artists.
In particular, the collection take inspiration from the film “The Virgin Suicide”, with his 70’ ambient and the pink lights, covered the depression and pressure of the main characters.

The collection tell the story about our contemporary human and woman situation, with a specific focus on the depression and loniless of the millennials. The pressure from a society that is expecting to see miracles from the generation that lived the most big communication and electronic change. The feeling to be always alone, even with people. To be always unappreciated, not understood and far away from everything: in a blur, blind and suffocating athmosphere.

Taking inspiration from the film, the pressure is showing with the isolation of the film’s girls, closed in their bed-room. On this way the sheets of the bed became wraparound and coiled fabrics, that take all the body. The fragments, the troubles, are showing by draping and irregular pleats. The shape that the body do when it’s close on itself, in a fetal time, became the rounded shape of the sleeve.

On this way, a young-beauty generation became troubled. Troubles, depression and oppression are telling using pink lights, softness, minimalistic details. The woman, but the human too, became a fragile nymph to rescue from herself, a figure damaged that it looks like a Egon Schiele’s paint. Interrupted and fragmented, searching the solution to be herself in this world, in a serenity way.
