Linda Kokkonen is a Finnish fashion designer based in Helsinki, Finland. Her designs are strongly connected to nature and always include a romantic touch.

Sustainability in fashion is a very important topic for the designer and the reason why she chose this career. She wants to be part of a change and has always an eye of the environmental well being while designing and handcrafting garments.

Her Bachelor graduation collection from Aalto University Helsinki has been selected by Vogue Talents 2017. The collection has been shot by the Spanish film director, Laura Martinova and published by Metal Magazine and Less Magazine. Latest the collection has been photographed by Finnish Emma Sarpaniemi, Diana Luganski, Maria Korkeila, Juha Arvid Helminen and by Spanish Iris Valles Saez.

Recently, Kokkonen finished third at the Desifner’s Nest competition; a platform for Nordic Design graduates and is finalist of Hyères International Fashion Festival in France.

the inspiration backround of this collection lies in victorian- hiking clothes, nightgowns and the different clothing styles represented during the middle ages paganism era.
the zero waste principle was followed throughout the whole creation process, while using all leftover materials from cutting patterns. old fabrics from previous collections have been also used, that were collected over the past years.
while still bringing forward the nightgowns’ relaxed and rich shape, at the same time a sensual and feminine look was added to the style as reference to the atmosphere of the middle ages paganism era.
the nightgowns are made of vintage, recycled and natural fibes.
a lot of hand stitching was used, wihle connectin different materials to create a different and unique surface. the finishing is uneven and crafty.
the collection consists of using wool yarn, re-used leather, recycled- silk, cupro, lace, wool and corduroy. All the lace knits have been made by hand, using chrose- and knit- ting techniques
