Re-copying as a concept is based upon the idea of reversing the fashion system. For now, the hierarchy goes high end fashion to high street fashion and the relation between those two markets has always been a discussion about “copying”.
This concept is therefore embracing the high street and copying, and hopefully it will explore the possibilities within and essentially move away from the mainly dominant negative connotation both subjects holds.

My approach is to see the fashion industry upside down – Firstly, I will start for the bottom and use an original high street garment as the main inspiration source, that I through different techniques can rework.

I have chosen H&M as my inspiration source for “copying” – note that this will not be a description on how to make the perfect copy!
This concept of Re-copying as a concept is series of different techniques and method I have developed and worked with, with the original H&M garments. The aim is to create new cutting edge pieces reusing and upcycling the fragmented H&M garments. Each H&M garment in the collection is either hand me downs or thrift shops findings.
This collection will emphasize mass production in to upcycling and copying in to Re-copying.
