FEEL SS19 invites a reaction. The new, distinctly graphic collection is extremely modern in terms of silhouette, keeping in line with JDM’s cutting-edge style. What defines the collection are the vibrant prints, inspired by raw and honest emotions, more specifically those of the designer. Each colorful pattern is a translation of the designer brain waves taken from scans conducted when experiencing different emotions. The pulsating abstractions, however, are more than just unique textile that literally incorporate the designer into every piece, they are an invocation, a call to FEEL.

According to Salim Cherfane: “We live in a time where surface prevails and affect is waning. People are becoming more robotic and human connections are run down. We are so virtually connected but live in such isolation from each other and from ourselves. We tend to run away from being in the moment, from being genuine. There is no longer room for emotion. Love, happiness, joy, sadness, freedom…these emotions we suppress are the building blocks of life. These feelings drive us and provide depth, grounding and connection. I want this collection to move people to feel, to be real. It is a vibrant reminder to be present, to be here in all its form and color.”
