The Jejune Certainty

THE JEJUNE CERTAINTY started with the ideas of insecurity, naivety and the constant yet intimate battle between one and one’s mind. The structure of the collection is inspired by the character - Briony Tallis of the novel - Atonement. The collection evolves with the mood of the character and her loss of innocence and the transposition from childhood into the adult world.

The collection starts off with in-house designed digital prints and embroidered nylon lace in hues of electric blue, forest green and baby pinks while neutral whites and beiges complement the overall colour palette. The silhouette is child-like, girlish and plays with proportions and placements of ruffles while maintaining a feminine texture. The collection then transitions into a more adolescent mood, with the lines sharper and straighter while the colour palette becomes darker and moodier. Psychedelic prints are blended into the varying textures such as cotton fringe cut doby and colour blocking techniques to create a cooler, elegant ALEX S. YU girl’s look.

The eleventh collection of ALEX S. YU utilizes the label's signature traits of girly dreamy vibes, ruffles, streetwear influences and mixtures of colours and textures while introducing a cooler, more elegant mix of elements to create the new fresh look of the ALEX S. YU.
