Dee de Lara Jewelry is about uncovering the underlying story. Inspiration is drawn from digging beneath what lies beneath the surface. With a background in consumer and cultural insights and brand strategy, Dee believes in the power of context. With a bricolage approach inspired by Surrealism and Dada, Dee takes pieces that had different intended purposes and previous lives and combines them unexpectedly to give a different context and new story. Dee de Lara Jewelry is about playful juxtapositions. Dee was born in Manila, raised in Staten Island, NY and Victoria, BC and calls Toronto and New York home, where everything is assembled by hand.
