Male, determined, proud. So the portraits of the players are painted in pose or during the game.
In contrast with this image the view of some photos of Blackburn Rovers team, winners of the Lancashire Cup in 1883.
Some relaxed, some sitting or lying down, with mawkish poses almost feminine leaning their head on the companion’s legs.
Same story for the British Lions in 1896.
A picture during the tour in South Africa portrays them firmly and seated arms crossed, except a player with wrist broken and his legs crossed.
The feminine element suddenly pushed me to work on the figure of male sports, to which, for a number of reasons and circumstances, are associated feminine characteristics. The world of rugby has joined the scholastic tradition revisiting the uniform of degree at Cambridge, with bands that begin to move on garments, conquering them and losing the central point of view.
