Dan Dvran is a visual artist and fashion designer currently based in Dumaguete City, Philippines. He finished a communications degree from Silliman University and pursued fashion design in the School of Fashion and the Arts in full scholarship. In 2011, he was a winner for the Preview Emerging Fashion Talent Awards by Preview Magazine. He briefly interned for Aranaz and JC Buendia before working as a designer in Dubai. Coming back to his hometown, he now operates a small made-to-measure business, at the same time, doing an independent research on creative pattern cutting, and sustainability and zero-waste design.
Visually, his aesthetic can be described as: fluid architecture with a rebellious undertone. The basis of his designs are in exploratory pattern cutting but manipulated with draping techniques.
With his art, he currently experiments with doing art prints, combining it with his garment designs. There is a cross between his definition of design and art, sometimes it interchanges.
He is never comfortable of the norm and continually desires to find the meaning of fashion design beyond personal aesthetic and style.
