Cristantine Caparos began his venture in the fashion industry at 22, when he worked as a creative assistant under a Filipino designer veteran, Rajo Laurel. He then took up a course in fashion design and pattern making at the The Fashion Institute of the Philippines - Ortigas. He went on to winning the YKK Menswear Challenge last year. Now, Cristantine Caparos has entered a new chapter of starting his line of contemporary designs for men and women. He is also currently working as a head fashion designer for a ready-to-wear supplier in the Philippines.

ORBIT CITY

For the collection, the designer brought back his 8-year-old obsession with retrofuturistic TV shows and movies; as well as the anticipation of what the future holds still lingers. He wanted to portray what he imagined men and women would wear in a retrofuturistic setting similar to the 1960s TV show, "The Jetsons". The show illustrates how the future was envisioned, expressing a unique architectural and visual style known as "Googie“ which is the inspiration behind the designs. And, hence the collection name ”Orbit City".
