REMINSCENSCE was inspired by a hotel in Shangai called The Waterhouse. The iconic hotel was a headquarters for the Japanese army during WWII. It later became a top design hotel, deliberately retaining the original structure of the building while adding modern elements to its design and infrastructure. This blend between tradition and modernity translates into the pieces in REMINISCENCE through the combination of traditional and modern, conceptual design. The olive and khaki color scheme and blocking represent the old architecture.
