For fall/winter 2015/16, Julia Winkler continues her fascination for the abstract through the inspiration of the experimental and spherical music of „Telefon Tel Aviv“ in combination with the portraits of the Belgian painter Sophie Kuijken. The strangeness radiated by Sophie Kuijken’s portraits comes from the actual method used by the artist, who composes her models from images selected on the internet. She conducts her online searches using key words: a name, a place, a number. This yields a gallery of individuals whose anonymity she cultivates by blending them together.
