Neoconcreto is based around the Brazilian art movement, Neo-Concretism, which has been described as European modernism meets Brazilian sensibility. The movement was not so much about the object, as the ideas and feelings it could generate. The majority of works were three dimensional moveable figures so that the spectator became the artist. After looking at the works of Helio Oiticica and Lygia Clark, I was drawn to colour and texture blocking and the idea of using hinges as a way of integrating movement and interaction within the garments.
